Talking Turkey, Zombies, Brains and More
Dear Cowork Friends:
It is hard to believe that it has been a year ago since we began the process of purchasing this space. In just 12 months, we have refurbished, repainted, renovated, repiped, rewired, refloored, rewalled, repurposed, refurnished, rebranded and more. There is a lot that still needs to be done but to avoid burn-out, it is important to REview the REcent accomplishments.
We recognize and want to share some of the key accomplishments of our cowork community.
For example:
Luke Palder has two start-ups in the tech space and has recently relocated to our area from San Fransisco. Moving across the country while keeping all of the details in order of a thriving start-up is worthy of some recognition. Smart guy. Every time I talk to him, my brain grows.
Melinda Satorius uses the cowork space in the evenings for sales training. Melinda has recently been awarded with a new car as a trophy for her high level of sales in Mary Kay cosmetics. She also was recognized for some community service she provided for the elderly: http://am1050.com/2011/manicures-at-millers/ all this while purchasing new land and building a house while living in a trailer with her husband and three young children!
Curt Feece wears many entrepreneurial hats like owning a computer consulting company, the Integration Group. He also took over the majority ownership of Hoosier Driving Academy this summer. Hoosier Driving Academy offers online courses and Sunday afternoon classes at our cowork space. He’s managed recent transitions like the change in ownership and move to downtown smoothly while also wearing several hats as a dad and husband to family who resides in Argos.
Way to go Luke, Melinda and Curt! I wanted to publicly acknowledge each of you and tell you how much I appreciate you and the unique energy you bring to this space. When we first started to offer the cowork space, we were motivated by the revenue opportunity. Now, we have learned about more opportunity in sharing expenses of an office space. Value found in the community of professionals is motivating us the most.
We hope you will take advantage of the community aspect of the cowork space. Please let us know if there is anything we can do to grow the community of professionals. We are offering some special affiliate programs like our 50/50 Brains Deal. (See below.) We also have complimentary daily passes available at the office and from our Facebook page. Please pass it on.
We will also be offering events like this week’s Thanksgiving Co-Family Feast on Friday night. We plan on bringing turkey, our small way of saying how thankful we are for this community. Do you have any suggestions for a social gathering for December? Just let us know!
In addition to the affiliate programs and the social side of events, we would like to invite you to reserve our window display space starting in January. Let us know if you want dibs in the coming months!
As we reflect on this year, we are grateful for you and your businesses that have allowed us to cover the expenses, and more importantly for the moments we have shared in conversation about work, ideas, technology and more!
Thank you Cowork Friends!
- Andrea and Phil Cook

We’re SEEKING BRAINS, not because we’re zombies, quite the contrary.
We want to grow the community of coworking professionals who can add to the synergy and success of our work days. Help us find BRAINS. Refer a friend for 50/50 - pays you $50 and your friend $50 when your friend purchases a monthly pass.

Cowork Upcoming Event Coverage
We are pleased to announce our upcoming schedule of events we will be covering in the next two weeks!
Not only will the content be insightful, but the individual professionals and the topics each will represent will be a crowd pleaser and brain grower.
The next event we plan to cover will be for Jason Falls and the virtual book tour he will be showcasing. If you have not yet picked up a copy of No Bullshit Social Media, the all-business, no-hype guide to social media marketing, you will not want to miss some of the key takeaways he will be sharing during this one hour "bookinar." We will be using #nobssocial at 1:00 EST on November 1 if you would like to follow along! We will also be capturing the content on the Event Correspondent Facebook page. Feel free to follow it on Facebook >
On November 9th, we will be live in NYC at the #Brandsconf where over 35 leading brands will be represented. Jeff Pulver hosts this annual event and this year will be exploring the "Humanization of Brands" as represented by brands including Oprah.com, Ogilvy, IBM, 360i, jetBLUE, EventBrite, DressBarn, Sesame Street and many many more. In Pulver's #140conf fashion, each presenter will speak for 10 minutes and the conference will have a mashup of topics, viewpoints and experiences all surrounding the human side of brands and their evolution in today's internet age. Pulver shares, "no longer can we just be a logo and stand behind a PR firm." His mission is to discuss the online media impact on brands and how it is changing business as usual. We are honored to be part of this effort as an onsite event correspondent.
Registration is available for you to attend >
We will be sharing live updates from the @140conf and #140conf hashtag. We hope to gather some of the highlights from each of the presenters and provide a recap of some of the main themes threaded throughout the day. Stay tuned to learn more!
